Law and Social Thought
LAW AND SOCIAL THOUGHT (INTERDISCIPLINARY PROGRAM)

Degree Offered:  Bachelor of Arts

Law and Social Thought (LST) is an interdisciplinary program for the study of law in society.  The program teaches the intellectual tools necessary for reasoned appraisal of U.S. and other Western and non-Western legal systems and the policies, practices, and philosophies that underlie them.  LST promotes reflection on the fundamental yet contestable values that shape the requirements of citizenship in contemporary democracy, and on the ways in which those values are shaped by the differences among those who embody them.
