Outstanding Alumna from the College of Arts and Sciences (in the Sciences) for Homecoming 2005
Dr. Nancy Collins (Biology B.S.'69 and M.S.'74) is the Director of the Cytotherapy Laboratory at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, New York, New York. Dr. Collins specializes in the development of new laboratory techniques to increase the success of stem cell transplants in patients with life-threatening blood diseases, including certain lymphomas and leukemias. She was featured in the Spring 2004 UT Alumni Magazine. She gave inaugural AWIS and the 2nd annual distinguished alumna lecture “Stem Cell Research: Facts, Myths and Future Directions” on Wednesday, October 5, 2005. She was recognized as the Outstanding Alumna from the College of Arts and Sciences (for the Sciences) for Homecoming 2005. Click here for information on her lecture. (posted October 2005)
Dr. Julius Jacobson (B.S. Biology '47), Director Emeritus of vascular surgery and Distinguished Service Professor of Surgery at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City, received the 2004 Gold T Award from the University of Toledo Alumni Association. (posted October 2005)

Outstanding Alumnus from the College of Arts and Sciences (in the Sciences) for Homecoming 2003
Dr. David Pinsky (UT'81,) an internationally recognized authority in vascular biology and formerly a professor at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, gave the inaugural Distinguished Biosciences Alumnus Lecure on March 3, 2004. He is the Outstanding Alumnus from the College of Arts and Sciences (in the Sciences) for Homecoming 2003. (posted March 2004)
