Undergraduate Program Description

The bachelor's degree is designed as a four year degree. The curriculum involves biology, chemistry, mathematics, physics as well as college requirements in humanities and social sciences. The department graduates about 70 students a year. Undergraduates in biosciences have career goals that include attending professional schools (medical, veterinary, dental and osteopathic), graduate schools, medical technology, or immediate entry into the exciting field of biotechnology. Biosciences undergraduates are offered many opportunities including the chance to participate in the biology honors program, conduct undergraduate research, study abroad at the University of Salford or be selected as an undergraduate teaching assistant.

Please contact Dr. Charles Creutz or Dr. Scott Leisner for advising. Click here for faculty contact information.

The outline for a typical course of study may be found in the curriculum guidelines for the Bachelor of Science in Biology (pdf).
The guidelines for a minor in Biology are also available (pdf).
The UT Admissions Office also provides useful information on the biology major, as well as information on how to apply to our programs.
