    REACH

REACH StudentsREACH, stands for Research Experience and Awareness of Clinical Health.. It is an eight-week summer research program that exposes high school students, particularly those who are historically underrepresented in the sciences, to research via basic and clinical tracks. The nationally recognized program offers students a meaningful experience in a variety of health-related experiences which stimulates an interest towards careers in the health sciences.

Applications are solicited from Toledo area high schools each spring. Once applications are received, an interviewing process will determine the final selections. Students are then paired with a basic science or clinical professional who will mentor the students as they work on laboratory or observational research projects. The research program culminates in a mandatory research forum where each student presents their findings. The program runs from June to August.
