STEM Career Awareness Booklet
The current job market in Northwest Ohio has changed considerably over the past several years and continues to evolve. The skills and preparation that students need to successfully enter the jobs of the future require more emphasis on science and mathematics. Traditionally, students get little exposure to STEM careers in their K-12 schools beyond the traditional fields of doctor, nurse, pharmacist, etc. The STEM Career Awareness Booklet is being constructed as a community awareness publication — to highlight STEM related careers found in NW Ohio, as well as other careers which require strong backgrounds in science and./or mathematics to be successful. This publication will highlight 20 commonly found and vibrant career paths in NW Ohio, as well as a discussion on how parents can better support their children to be successful in these areas.
