    PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The Master's Degree in Secondary Education is designed for teachers (or prospective teachers) of children in grades 7-12.  The degree is rigorous, but flexible, allowing students to focus on particular areas of interest, such as English/language arts, science, mathematics, or social studies.

The Education Specialist and doctoral degrees (either Ed.D. or Ph.D.) are research-based degrees that prepare graduates for work in universities, colleges, school districts, and educational agencies.

    OF SPECIAL INTEREST
LAMP is a popular master's degree program especially designed for students who hold the bachelor's degree in a field other than education. Students who go through LAMP earn licensure and a master's degree in secondary education at the same time. LAMP stands for Licensure & Alternative Master's Program.

    CURRICULUM INFORMATION

    1. The Master's Degree in Secondary Education is a 30-hour program.
    2. The Education Specialist Degree requires 32 hours of course work beyond the Master's Degree.
    3. The Ed.D. and Ph.D. programs have an impressive track record for placing students in research and teaching positions in colleges and universities, school districts, and state agencies.
