Undergraduate programs for students seeking teacher licensure are as follows.
Early Childhood Education (for teaching children in pre-kindergarten to grade 3)
Special Education Intervention Specialist (for teaching children from kindergarten or pre-kindergarten age to twelfth grade). Specialty areas include the following:
(a) mild/moderate special needs: ages 5-21
(b) Moderate/intensive special needs: ages 5-21
(c) Visually Impaired: ages 3-21
Middle Childhood Education (for teaching grades 4-9).
Choose two of the following concentrations:
(a) Reading and Language Arts
(b) Mathematics
(c) Science
(d) Social Studies
Adolescent and Young Adult Education (for teaching grades 7-12).
Specialty areas include the following:
(a) Integrated Language Arts
(b) Integrated Mathematics
(c) Integrated Social Studies
(d) Integrated Science (Licensure in one or two areas of science is also available, including the following fields and combinations: (i) Earth Science, (ii) Life Science,(iii) Life Science and Chemistry, (iv) Life Science and Earth Science, (v) Life Science and Physics, (vi) Earth Science and Chemistry, (vii) Earth Science and Physics, (viii) Physics and Chemistry, or (ix) Chemistry and Physics)
Multi-Age Education (for teaching grades K-12).
Specialty areas include the following: Visual Arts, Music, Physical Education, Health, Foreign Languages (French, German or Spanish)
Career and Technical Education (for teaching in grades 4-12)
Specialty areas include the following: Health Occupations, Trade and Industry, and Integrated Business
Work experience options for vocational licensure are also available via a 24 credit hour program in agriculture, health careers, industrial engineering systems, family and consumer sciences, business and marketing.
A Computer/Technology Endorsement may be earned as part of a baccalaureate program leading to initial teacher licensure.
