    Mulford Library to Extend Hours

    Marlene Porter, Director of the Health Science Campus Library, announced that the Mulford Health Science Library on the UT Health Science Campus will be expanding open hours to 24 hours for five days a week in addition to their regular hours on Saturday (10am-10pm) starting this coming Sunday, August 24, 2008. This is good news for those students in Counselor Education and School Psychology who frequently use the Mulford Library journals for research purposes.

    CESP & CSI Host 'Welcome Back' Cruise

    The Department of Counselor Education and School Psychology and Chi Sigma Iota would like to announce the 1st Annual Welcome Back Cruise!  Come enjoy food, music, and fun with some new and old friends, as we cruise down the beautiful Maumee River! Cost is $5 for current students, faculty, and guests; FREE for first-year CESP students. The cruise will be aboard the Sandpiper. The Sandpiper's dock is located at the foot of Jefferson Avenue in Promenade Park, in downtown Toledo (for a map and directions, please visit www.sandpiperboat.com). The cruise date is Saturday, September 6. Boarding will begin at 2:45 p.m., and the cruise will last from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Due to passenger capacity, there is a limit of one guest per person.     Two CESP Doctoral Students to Be Honored at NCACES

    Amber Lange, a doctoral candidate in Counselor Education and Supervision, was selected to receive the 2008 Outstanding Graduate Student Award from the North Central Association for Counselor Education and Supervision, a regional division of the national Association of for Counselor Education and Supervision, representing 13 states. Victoria Sepulveda, another doctoral candidate in Counselor Education and Supervision, was selected to receive a NCACES Research Grant Award of $1000 to assist her in her dissertation research. To have two of our doctoral students selected from the over 50 programs represented by NCACES is an outstanding achievement. Both students will be honored during the NCACES Annual Convention on Friday, October 17, 2008, in the Grand Central Ball Room of the Crowne Plaza Hotel in downtown Indianapolis. Ms. Lange's CESP faculty advisor is Dr. Martin Ritchie, while Dr. Nick Piazza is Ms. Sepulveda's advisor.
