
The Office of New Student Orientation Programs is looking for students with great attitudes and the desire to help showcase The University of Toledo to our new students and their parents.

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to…
• Assist college advisers
• Lead certain programs presentations or panels
• Help pass out materials
• Answer parent and student questions
• Conduct small group icebreakers
• Assist with placement testing, Web for Students, and
• Assist with other duties as assigned by the director and graduate assistants
Specific Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to...
• Work in teams or as individuals to facilitate orientation for approximately 150-200 new students each day of the program. Groups may include first-year, adult and/or transfer students
• Serve as a contributing member of the Orientation Team
• Acquaint new students with academic opportunities and procedures, and with campus services, activities, and facilities
• Lead activities that will help students become better acquainted with one another and the institution
• Educate participants on available campus resources
• Serve as a role model for incoming students
• Serve as ongoing contacts for those student with whom they build initial relationships
• Engender a sense of enthusiasm and fun
• Attend and be active participants in training and development activities
• Participate in preparation for each program – stuff folders, set up facilities, check in families, escort families to sessions, answer questions, collaborate with university staffs, etc.
• Abide by and reinforce all University regulations
• Perform other duties as assigned
Time Commitment & Employment Conditions...
All Student Orientation Leaders are required to attend training. The program schedule is as follows and all student orientation leaders are required for each program day which lasts from 7:30am - 5pm:

Thursday, December 18
Friday, December 19
Tuesday, January 6
Wednesday, January 7
Student Orientation Leaders are required to be in good academic and judicial standing to be employed with the Office of New Student Orientation Programs.
